My wonderful friend Reed loaned me his copy of Life of Pi. I'd seen it in bookstores but the only reviews I'd heard about it had been from critics and they seemed to like it and since critics and I tend to disagree about everything (books, movies, food - it doesn't matter) I had stayed away from it. But I really liked it. If you haven't read it, read it.
